On 21 July 2026, the Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) Celebration Event, led by Professor Madhavi Paladugu, brought together colleagues from the undergraduate medical education team to celebrate and reflect on their achievements during the 2025–2026 academic year.
Each team shared examples of their outstanding work, innovative approaches, and successes in undergraduate education. The event provided an opportunity for colleagues to learn from one another, with a particular focus on the creative use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.
The celebration was attended by Lindsey Dickinson, our new Deputy Medical Director for Care Integration, and Caroline Ashworth, Deputy Associate Director of Medical Education & Advanced Practice, whose presence highlighted the organisation’s continued commitment to excellence in undergraduate medical education. Lindsey Dickinson commented that “It was a privilege to attend and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our undergraduate medical education teams. The event highlighted the dedication, innovation and collaboration that continue to shape the training of our future doctors”.
Reflecting on the event, Professor Madhavi Paladugu highlighted the value of bringing colleagues together for meaningful face-to-face interaction. She noted that the event fostered healthy, supportive competition between teams, encouraged the sharing of innovative educational practices, and showcasing how technology is being used to enhance learning and improve the educational experience for students.
Caroline Ashworth said: “Our Undergraduate Medical Education Celebration Event was a fantastic opportunity to bring colleagues together to recognise achievements, showcase innovation and good practice, and reflect on the many successes and developments delivered across our teams over the past year.
