Last week, Thursday 18 August, the Health Academy hosted an open day for second and third year students training to become Registered Nurses and Operating Department Practioners.
Staff from over 20 different clinical areas and specialities including wards, theatres and outpatients at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, as well as non-clinical staff attended the day. Teams had an opportunity to showcase their surgical division, whilst students questioned our friendly staff about what their area had to offer, working hours, progression, and more. Interview stations were also set up to assist students with interview preparation and skills.
With the support of our wonderful human resources and clinical teams, the day saw some fantastic successes. Several students were offered clinical roles within the surgical division and many Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks were started, to speed up the recruitment process.
Thank you to all the teams involved in this fantastic day.
