On the 21 & 22 June, we are hosting our first Student Nurse Engagement Day.
The event will be held virtually, providing student nurses in any year with an insight into both Surgery & Theatres, and Medicine at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
In running this engagement day we will be showcasing our wards and departments to our future workforce.
The goal is to help student nurses decide if they would like to come and work for us, by showing them that we are a great place to work.
Students will have the chance to meet future colleagues as well as past students who now work at LTHTr, who will be able to offer them a real insight into working here and top tips on getting employed after graduation.
As well as an insight into our different wards and departments, we will also be holding a recruitment session with advice on job applications, interviews and more.
Our Recruitment Team will be on hand to support you in securing your perfect role with us as we have vacancies in a number of areas including , surgery, medicine and theatres.
We have streamlined the recruitment process to make it easier to secure your dream professional position with our Trust.
Unlike other Trusts we won’t be holding interviews on the same day as we feel you should have the full 1-2-1 opportunity to speak to our Ward managers and Recruitment team to ensure you get the knowledge and insight before being interviewed.
We will instead be inviting you to a separate interview giving you the best chance to prepare for your chosen area.
Rachel Russel, Nurse Recruitment & Engagement Officer, said “We value the importance of the role of a student nurse and welcome you to join us in your first registered nursing post.
“We want the best nursing workforce for the future as we truly are a great place to work.”
If you enjoy working in an environment that enables you to provide a high standard of care and support to our patients and their families, then we know we are the Trust for you.
We truly value our staff and we pride ourselves in ensuring you have opportunities to continue your professional development in whichever way you want to take your next steps.
Be sure to book onto our Student Nurse Engagement Day so you don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to prepare for your future as a Nurse!
