The General Medical Council (GMC) has launched its annual survey for both trainees and trainers, and it’s now available online! The survey plays a vital role in shaping the future of postgraduate medical education and training in the UK, so this is your chance to provide feedback and make a real difference in the way training is delivered.
Key Dates to Remember
- Survey Open: Tuesday 18th March 2025
- Survey Closes: Tuesday 29th April 2025
- Duration: 6 weeks
This survey is a core part of the GMC’s efforts to monitor and improve the quality of training programs across the country. The Education Governance team at LTHTR is fully committed to listening to the voices of postgraduate doctors in training and their trainers. Your feedback, together with other internal reviews throughout the year, helps shape action plans and highlight areas of best practice.
Why Should You Participate?
The GMC survey is a professional responsibility for all eligible postgraduate doctors in training. It gives you the opportunity to provide valuable insights into your training experience, and the feedback you offer will be used to help guide improvements in medical education. Plus, a unique code will be provided upon completion as evidence that you’ve participated.

- Doctors working in NHS or non-NHS organisations
- F2 trainees completing additional General Practice training
- Those on Out of Programme Training (OOPT-UK) in approved UK training programs
