Our beloved colleague, Kay Cartwright (Student, Trainee and Placement Support (STAPS) Hub Manager) very sadly passed away on Saturday 22nd June 2024, peacefully at home with her close family by her side.
Kay was only 60 years old and recently celebrated the big occasion with her work colleagues. Kay had worked in the Trust since 2004 and in Medical Education for 18 years.
About Kay, Professor Madhavi Paladugu (Hospital Dean) said:
“She meant so much to many of us and has been such an important part of our Undergraduate Medical Education Team for so many years. Kay always had a very “can-do” attitude and showed unwavering dedication to improve the learning experiences for medical students. Her smile and positive nature was always infectious and she would bring her calm and collected nature to every walk of life. We have lost a loyal colleague and confidant and we will all miss her dearly”.
Lauren O’Brien (Deputy Director of Education), added:
“We are all deeply saddened to receive the heartbreaking news of the passing of our dear colleague. Kay was not just a valued member of our team, but also a cherished friend to many. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication will be deeply missed. Kay’s passing is a profound loss for our teams, we will always be grateful to have known and worked with her. She helped to shape our team into what it is today.”
Her funeral is due to take place on the afternoon of Thursday 4th July 2024 near to her home.
