Are you considering a career in nursing but want to learn more before taking the next step? Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is inviting aspiring healthcare professionals to attend one of our Discover Nursing Taster Sessions in 2026. These interactive weekend programmes offer a unique opportunity to gain insight into the nursing profession and explore the rewarding career opportunities available within the NHS.
Participants will have the chance to discover what it takes to become a nurse, learn about different nursing pathways, and hear first-hand about the skills, knowledge and values needed to succeed in the profession. Whether you are a student, considering a career change, or simply interested in healthcare, these sessions are designed to help you make informed decisions about your future.
Four programmes are available throughout 2026, taking place on 13-14 June, 11-12 July, 22-23 August, and 26-27 September. Each programme runs across both weekend days from 10am to 2pm and will be held at the Preston Business Centre (PR2 8DY), with full venue details provided upon booking.
The sessions are open to anyone aged 16 and over with an interest in nursing who can attend both days of their chosen programme. Places are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.
