The Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Undergraduate Medical Education Team was delighted to join the celebrations for the Year 5 Graduation Ceremony, held at Manchester’s Whitworth Hall and hosted by the University of Manchester Medical School on Tuesday 14 July 2026.
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of this year’s cohort, with an outstanding 98.2% of students successfully graduating, including 24 students who were awarded honours. These exceptional results reflect the hard work, resilience and dedication of our students throughout their medical training.
Professor Madhavi Paladugu, Hospital Dean at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LTHTr), reflected on the occasion:
“It was a privilege to celebrate with our graduates on such a significant occasion and to meet their families and loved ones. On behalf of the Undergraduate Medical Education Team, it has been a genuine pleasure to support our students throughout their placements at LTHTr from Years 3 to 5 and to watch them grow into confident, compassionate future doctors. We extend our warmest congratulations to every graduate and wish them every success and fulfilment as they embark on the next stage of their medical careers.”
This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and expertise of colleagues across LTHTr, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT), our GP practices, community partners, patients and everyone who contributes to the education and development of our medical students. Whether through teaching, mentoring, supervision or providing invaluable learning experiences, your support makes a lasting difference.
