Cancer Education Hub
Welcome to the Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Education Hub. We want to tell you about an exciting collaboration with the four trusts in the Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Alliance.
The aim of the Cancer Education Hub is to offer free education to colleagues from Trusts across the Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Alliance. The hub will support and coordinate any education event relating to cancer.
Cancer survival is the highest it’s ever been. As part of the NHS Long Term Plan, the NHS has committed to increase the proportion of people diagnosed at stage 1 or 2 of cancer to 75% over the coming decade.
About the Cancer Education Hub
Here at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, we see part of our role in helping to achieve the Long Term Plan is to develop an Education Hub that will deliver first class training to the Cancer Workforce across the Lancashire and South Cumbria footprint.
We are working with our colleagues at the Cancer Alliance, Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, East Lancashire NHS Trust and University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay to develop a bespoke education programme that all staff who are working in Primary and Secondary Care can access.
This collaboration across the Alliance will help to grow the Cancer Education Hub brand and ensure that all staff across all localities are given the same opportunities to access all cancer education events.
We are really grateful to the Rosemere Cancer Foundation who have provided the funding to support this project.
