Introducing the inaugural ‘Health Academy Education Awards’ at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

The awards celebrate and recognise the outstanding contribution that our colleagues at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals have made to Education and Training over the last 12 months.

The Awards will take place at Ribby Hall Hotel on the evening of Friday 30th June.

As well the awards themselves, colleagues will enjoy a complimentary meal and entertainment, which promise to have you on your feet as we celebrate the Education stars of LTHTR.

Nominations from the 11 award categories are open to colleagues, learners and trainees at LTHTR with full details of how you can nominate below:

Award Categories

This award recognises a truly outstanding learning environment. This is based on internal feedback provided by learners and trainees including surveys, focus groups, placement evaluation scores and STAR rating as well as external feedback from surveys such as NETS and GMC NTS. (Nominations for this award are closed).

This award recognises a teacher that has delivered a teaching session and/or an Interprofessional learning session that has most inspired you and that continuously demonstrates a real passion and determination to education that shines through in their teaching.   This teaching could have taken place in a classroom or online setting. 
Entry Criteria:  This award is open to any colleague who delivers teaching in a classroom-based setting

This award recognises the staff member who provided you with the most inspiring practice-based teaching that has enhanced your learning opportunities and contributed positively to your learning journey.  
Entry Criteria:  This award is open to any staff member who delivers teaching in a practice-based environment.

This award recognises colleagues that have assessed your skills, knowledge, and ability during your learning journey and that you feel has most supported you well.  This could be in a developmental support or pastoral support capacity.

This award recognises colleagues who have been a champion for equality, diversity and inclusion within the last 12 months, driving and promoting inclusion activities to improve the learning experience for our learners and trainees e.g.   this could be on an individual level where a colleague has recognised a learner and/or trainees potential and supported them to achieve their desired outcomes or on a broader level supporting the transition of our international colleagues into practice.

This category recognises the colleague who goes that extra mile to support our learners and trainers.  This individual could be someone that continuously goes above and beyond and demonstrates this through their hard work, listening ear, support or guidance to name but a few.

This category is for the colleague or team that have implemented innovative solutions within teaching practice to improve the learner experience.  This could be in the form of digital technology or put simply, an idea that has been developed and implemented to support the delivery of education and training.

This award recognises truly outstanding colleagues who champion education and training at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals whilst acting as an inspirational role model to staff, learners and trainees. 
Entry Criteria:  This award is only open to all clinical colleagues within the Trust who contribute to education and training delivery.

This category is for the colleague within the Education Directorate at the Trust, that you feel has provided outstanding support, advice and/or guidance to learners or colleagues within the Trust.  
Entry Criteria:  This award is only open to colleagues working within The Health Academy, whether that be in a teaching or non-teaching capacity.
