“The day-long event kicked off with lectures from esteemed consultants from the Trust: Professor Madhavi Paladugu, Dr. Sudhi Kulkarni, and Dr. Simon Belderbos of Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. Followed by a dynamic surgical and medical panel discussion, giving opportunity to explore the lectures in more depth.

The afternoon was filled with eight hands-on workshops, including VR tracheostomy, T&O hip screw fixation, and airway management, with fantastic engagement from medical students. Difficult Airway enthusiast and Consultant Anaesthetist, Dr Krish Radhakrishna, also joined the day, traveling from the midlands to contribute. An industry expert, he has been a leading teacher at the University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire for over a decade.
The feedback from the day was overwhelmingly positive. With attendees praising the conference’s organisation, professionalism, and the dedication of the MedSoc team.
“The conference was incredibly well organised,” one participant shared, with another adding. “It was great to see the effort put into such an event.”
Professor Madhavi Paladugu (Hospital Dean – LTHTr), who both presented and attended, remarked, “The conference was brilliantly organised, with excellent attendance from our Consultants. Their involvement in discussions about work, life as a doctor, and managing work-life balance was invaluable.”
A big congratulations to the organising team, especially our Preston Manchester Medical School students Jack Collard, Alastair Kemp, and Sophie Mitchell.
