Preston Medical Society Host Freshers' Fayre 2017
Preston Medical Society recently arranged a Freshers’ Fayre to welcome a new wave of 3rd year medical students to Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
The event enables 4th year students to provide information on the societies available for them to join as well as meet the staff from the Learner Support team who provide valuable support and guidance to students and learners throughout their time here. The Health & Wellbeing team were also at the event to promote their range of events and activities that the students can join to ensure they feel looked after and healthy in themselves.
The event was well attended and was a credit to Preston Med Soc. Here’s what they had to say about it:
“On the 4th of September 2017, Preston Medsoc and LTHTR held the annual Freshers’ Fayre to welcome the new 3rd year students to Preston! It was a fantastic success, attended by a huge variety of societies, both educational and recreational. The educational societies covered every interest from Manchester Outreach Medics to Acute Medicine, and there were sports ranging from Netball to Hiking. The new students were very enthusiastic and the sign-up sheets filled up far too quickly. We even had suggestions of new societies from 3rd years; watch out for the brand new Preston Medics Music Society starting this academic year! Overall, the event was a resounding success and we hope it will be repeated for many years to come.”

Well done to everyone involved.
