The Learning Awards Finalists 2020
The Learning Awards 2020 Finalists.
The Health Academy is delighted to announce that the Trust has been shortlisted as a finalist in the internationally recognised Learning Awards 2020.
Competing with entrants from over 50 countries around the world, our education and training has been acknowledged in the ‘Innovation in Learning’ category.
The Learning Awards recognise achievements and innovation in workplace learning on an international level, hand picking finalists from hundreds of entries.
The nomination surrounds the important work carried out at the LIFE (Learning Inspiration for Future Employment) Centre which inspires NHS careers and supports health and well-being in people aged 5 years and upwards.
The facility, which includes VR and AR technology and simulation teaching spaces such as mock A&E wards and medical bays, has already seen 117 people progress into employment or further training as a direct result of widening participation activity.
This is complimented with over 650 work experience placements across the Trust, and the site has welcomed 190 primary school, 161 high school pupils and supported existing staff with maths and English requirements.
The Learning Awards 2020 will host a glittering awards ceremony in London on Thursday 20th February where the winners will be formally announced to an audience of entrants from around the world.
Head of Widening Participation and Apprenticeships, Jackie Higham, said: “We are immensely proud to be finalists in the 2020 Learning Awards.
“The aim of the LIFE Centre is to support people into employment through innovative education, so to reach the final is a testament to the work done here, by both staff and students.”
