Supporting the Inter-professional Learning Sessions for all learners

Placement Expansion Support are collaboratively working with the Undergraduate Team within Workforce & Education to create new and inspiring teaching sessions available to all of our learners at our Trust. These teaching sessions will be delivered by a wide variety of specialists within Lancashire Teaching Hospitals to provide awareness and insight into the excellent work their team undertake and create the knowledge and skills to enhance the learners’ journey.

In order to include all of our learners there are topics available for both Adult and Paediatric Student Nurses, Medical Students, Allied Health Professional learners, Student Midwives, Trainee Nursing Associates and Physician Associates. To provide a little insight into these teaching sessions, some of the topics include;

  • Foetal Monitoring
  • Nutrition Awareness
  • Introduction to Dysphasia
  • Theatre Etiquette
  • Home Oxygen Service
  • Dementia Awareness
  • Pain Management
  • Renal Dialysis
  • Physio – Oncology and Palliative Care Service…..to name but a few

Once a timetable has been co-ordinated, this will be made available on the Health Academy Internet Page, under Inter-Professional Learning (IPL), with details as to how learners can book onto these teaching sessions.

If you work for the Trust and you or your team would like to deliver a teaching session on your speciality, please contact the Undergraduate Team at undergradstaps@lthtr.nhs.uk for more details as to how you can get involved!

We truly feel these teaching sessions will enrich our learners’ journey with us.
